JOB SUMMARY
Individual will be responsible for the management of the parish Food Pantry and Medical Missions Office. Other duties include answering telephone calls, providing resources to customers and handling administrative functions related to the pastoral Care Ministry..
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Publicly support and promote the Pastor’s initiatives, and decisions, regarding the mission and operation of the Parish, including but not limited to the following:
- Adequately resourcing the Food Pantry;
- Managing the resources of the Medical Mission Office;
- provide general support for volunteers;
- complete special projects, or other job responsibilities, as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee general operations of the Food Pantry,
2. Coordinating with local volunteer Food Pantry coordinators
3. Recruitment of food pantry volunteers
4. Coordinate volunteer staff to insure weekly assistance with grocery pickups
5. Coordinate with other parish ministries
6. Attendance of monthly staff meetings
REQUIREMENTS and PREFERENCES:
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience or equivalent combination of formal education and related work experience, preferably in a non-profit setting
- Grocery store experience is a plus
- Basic knowledge of MS Suite; filing and general office skills
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a must
- Applicants must be outgoing and have strong problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills
- Applicants must be able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks, as assigned
- Flexibility to attend evening/weekend functions, as required
- Lift, push/pull 30lbs; climb ladders and stairs, as necessary; valid IL driver’s license; availability to work overtime, as needed.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
