The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a Coordinator of Social Justice Education. This position coordinates the student diversity education efforts for the Student Multicultural and Diversity Programs (SMDP) office. Overall, the successful candidate will seek to create a seamless curricular component for the office's programs, other educational initiatives.
Key Duties & Primary Responsibilities:
Annual Salary: $35,570-$40,000
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in program administration, academic/instructional, or counseling required.
Masters Degree in a relevant field preferred
Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement

Key Duties & Primary Responsibilities:
- Advising the Free Food for Thought Peer Facilitators, Safe Zone Peer Educators
- Co-coordinating both the annual SMDP Student Leadership and Social Justice Retreat
- Co-coordinating advising, logistics, and content of the Diversity Peer Educators (DPE) program with the director
- This person will also play a large part in implementing requested diversity and inclusion trainings for students
- Coordinate LGBTQ+ programming
- Perform other duties as assigned
