Serve as the main purchaser for all club sports. Manage all club financials including the preparation of the annual club sport budget. Approves and oversees Sport Club travel for local, regional, and national trips. Serve as the main departmental contact for the Sport Club Council and Sport Club Executive Board. Responsible for management of the Sports Club program with direct oversight of operations of up to 15 student sports clubs. Coordinate schedule requests for practices, meets, tournaments, and events for the Sport Club Executive Council. Obtain appropriate off-campus facilities for club activities that cannot occur on campus. Evaluate facilities to meet needs and risk management standards and differing sport governing regulations. Responsible for training sports club members and staff in travel procedures and van driving and ensuring that travel is completed by clubs according to OSU and Department of Wellness policies. Assist intramural sports programming for 50 sports which includes recruiting, hiring, firing, training, supervision, scheduling, and evaluation for up to 100 student officials 20 student check-in staff and 25 student supervisors for the program. Coordinate leagues playoffs and tournaments through scheduling software. Revise rules. Purchase equipment and supplies for the intramural program when needed. Responsible for the development and implementation of the safety and risk management procedures for associated Sport Club activities, Intramural events, and Youth Programs. Directly responsible for scheduling 5 Club Sport Specialists and 25 Supervisors for club home contests and events. Assist the development decision making for the youth summer camp programming including budgeting recruiting hiring firing training supervision and evaluation for camp counselors. Collaborate with other campus entities for cooperative programming opportunities. Serve as the on-site-on call lead during scheduled camp shifts. Other duties assigned by Competitive Sports or by the Department of Wellness.

This position will require some night and/or weekend hours as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Leisure Studies, Recreation Management, or related field. 

One year of professional experience administering or assisting with a Competitive Sports program. A two year Graduate Assistantship will be considered 1-year of experience.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, familiar with league scheduling software and related staff training. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong commitment to teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Master's degree

Two years of experience working in the administration of a college Competitive Sports (intramural & club sports) program. Experience working with children in a summer camp setting.

Prefer candidate with a working knowledge of league scheduling software IMLeagues, computer tracking of game results and member eligibility. Certified high school or college official in at least one or more of the following sports (football, basketball, soccer, softball, or volleyball).Demonstrated background in the training of sports officials and knowledge of NIRSA sport rules. NIRSA member and experience with extramural events.
