Job Summary
This position is responsible for outreach, recruiting and program oversight for the apprenticeship functions of the Continuing Education and Training Division. This position supports the work of the Career and Continuing Professional Education and Academic and Student Affairs to recruit students into apprenticeship and engage employers to hire students as Registered Apprentices. This position must work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. It reports to the Senior Director, Career and Continuing Professional Education..
Essential Job Functions
- Develop pools of registered employers for the creation of new apprenticeship occupations and recruit additional registered employers for existing occupations approved through the Maryland Department of Labor. Serve as the primary point of contact for employers.
- Support apprenticeship development in coordination with the Senior Director, Career and Continuing Professional Education and the Department of Labor Navigator, Program Manager(s)/Division Chair, and registered employers
- Collaborate with the College’s Marketing team to develop, disseminate, and update compelling employer and student recruiting materials, including video, social media, and website. Design and develop brochures, fliers, and general informational materials to promote the program.
- Conduct student program orientations to review workbook parameters, eligibility requirements, course requirements, and general guidelines.
- Ensure student adherence to state apprenticeship standards and recordkeeping requirements and advise students on program application, enrollment processes, and required record keeping as needed.
- Prepare and submit reports based on documentation needed or required for workplace experiences and grant compliance.
- Represent the College at career fairs and other events for the purpose of recruiting apprentices and employers
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements to Perform Work
- Associate degree and five years related experience.
- Ability to engage with diverse students, employers, Carroll County Workforce Development and Economic Development, CCPS, MDOL, and C Suite staff in a wide variety of employment sectors to include, but not limited to, manufacturing, trades, childcare, animal care, drone technology, health care and transportation.
- Ability to manage apprenticeship-based grants and the funding associated with them.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree and three years related experience.

SALARY INFORMATION:
This Grant funded position will be placed on the College, 12-month exempt staff salary scale at grade 103. Actual salary placement based on qualifications and experience. Position includes excellent benefits package.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is sedentary work which requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:
- Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
- Visual Acuity/ability to perceive or detect surroundings
- Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand, and convey subject matter
- Repetitive motion (i.e., keyboarding)
- Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
College campus, direct contact with students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms; use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations and College policies. Observance of traffic laws when/if driving a college vehicle.

- be able to work on campus as of the first day of employment
- be a resident of DE, MD, PA, VA, WV or DC as of the first day of employment
