Job Description:
The Graduate and Professional Studies division of McDaniel College invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in and Coordinator of the Masters of Science in the Education of the Deaf, to begin June 1, 2023.
The mission of Graduate and Professional Studies is to prepare culturally competent professionals committed to leadership in their field. Students are placed in the center of a community rich in the liberal arts tradition. An emphasis on the foundation of knowledge and critical decision-making based on current research, theory, and practice are central to our programs.
Duties: In consultation with the Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies, serve as coordinator of the MS in Education of the Deaf, overseeing all aspects of the program, including creating, assessing, and updating curriculum, scheduling and staffing courses, supporting program instructors and students, and assisting recruitment efforts by Admissions and the Office of Communications and Marketing. Teach a 4-4 load with 2 course releases a year for program coordinator duties.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field required, Ph.D. or Ed.D preferred. Successful candidates will provide evidence of teaching experience in an educational in a P-12 public school system. Teaching at the college level is preferred.
