Shift is 7am to 3:30pm on Sunday and 6am to 2:30pm Monday to Thursday. Worker is off on Fri/Sat. Please submit resumes for review.

Introduction:

We are seeking an experienced and talented Cook to join our team at a renowned healthcare establishment in Urbana, IL. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality, delicious meals. The ideal candidate should have a passion for food, some culinary experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and cook a wide variety of menu items, including entrees, side dishes, and desserts, ensuring that the highest standards of food quality and presentation are consistently achieved.
2. Collaborate with the kitchen team.
3. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications in order to consistently produce quality dishes.
4. Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are strictly adhered to during food preparation, cooking, and storage.
5. Maintain a clean and organized work station, following proper cleaning and sanitizing procedures as required.
6. Monitor food stock levels and properly store incoming food and ingredients.
7. Collaborate with the service staff to ensure smooth communication and flow of food orders, ensuring all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner.

Requirements:

1. Some experience as a Cook or similar role, basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, culinary terms, and cooking utensils and equipment. Must possess or be able to obtain food safety certification.

2. Ability to efficiently handle a variety of kitchen tools and appliances, including knives, mixers, grills, and ovens.

3. Able to read and follow recipes, executing them accurately and efficiently.

4. In-depth understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, with the ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

5. Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to efficiently prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

6. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.

7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with other staff members, including servers and management.

8. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the needs of the establishment.

9. Must pass a criminal background check, I-9 (E-Verify) verification, and drug screening. Because this position is located in healthcare facility, flu shots are required, and immunization records must be provided.

10. Must have access to reliable transportation and a commitment to showing up on time every day.
