The Cook Assistant is responsible for assisting the Cook in the following: maintaining Ardent Preschool and Daycare kitchen standards and guaranteeing that the children are served nutritious, delicious and appealing meals and snacks.
Essential Functions
- Prepare meals and snacks
- Clean and organize the kitchen and pantry
Daily Tasks
- Prepare food items according to the campus menu
- Aid in adjusting recipes to volume of demand
- Serve breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack in a timely manner
- Sanitize the kitchen and equipment
- Sanitize bathrooms and common areas
Weekly Tasks
- Inspect all food delivered to the campus
Monthly Tasks
- Stay up to date on county health code regulations and inspection requirements
Quarterly Tasks
- Assist with campus deep cleaning
Abilities

Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen
- Successfully pass a background check
- ServSafe certified (post hiring)
Physical Demands
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently stand, lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday and hours vary. Extended hours may be necessary as needed to cover staffing during business hours.
