We have a cook position available for you. This school year position is currently at Deering High School, 30 hours week, Monday through Friday, tentative work hours are 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Flexibility in work hours and work location will be required to meet the current and future needs of the Food Service Department. This candidate would be responsible for the production of all meals at Deering High School; with a working knowledge of foods and their preparation, large quantity recipes, operations and the care of kitchen equipment, local and state health sanitation requirements, maintain a safe facility for the performance of work, assist with monthly inventory, and the ability to oversee co-workers in daily production responsibilities. Ability to learn and perform all aspects of the Team Leader II position and assume those responsibilities in their absence. Communicate effectively with Managers, Team Leaders, other employees, school staff, administration, and parents. Performs other related duties as assigned. Sufficiently good physical condition, and ability to work long hours while standing. Must be capable of lifting at least 50 pounds. Minimum of three to five year experience in large quantity cooking preferred. Graduate from high school or GED equivalent. A degree in culinary arts preferred, candidate should have excellent culinary, communication, math, and computer skills. Pass and maintain ServSafe Manager certification within 6 months of employment.
