Position Overview:
MOHELA (Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority), a nationally-recognized leader in student loan servicing, is currently seeking results oriented and individuals to work in a highly professional and fast-paced environment as Conversion Specialists for Harrisburg, PA area. Conversion Specialist have a vital role at MOHELA as they are involved in the conversion of loan data onto MOHELA's system from an outsider servicer. Have a positive impact on all of MOHELA's customers: Borrowers, the Department of Education and schools.
Responsibilities include:
Auditing and system entry of data associated with borrower accounts transferring onto MOHELA loan system. Audit Federal student loan assets and prepare transferred accounts for release to servicing. Review edits, document and process data corrections as needed. Read industry standard file layouts to resolve data discrepancies. Work with sending servicers to resolve any data issues and provide any additional information needed to complete the transfer. Meet required deadlines for releasing Federal loans to servicing to prevent MOHELA from incurring a negative financial impact.
Additional Incentives:
Earn $2500 within 60-90 days, plus an additional $150/biweekly for opting-out of MOHELA's medical plan. (must show proof of being insured by another group medical plan).
Training:

• New Hires will be well-trained to understand federal policies and regulations
• Must be able to attend and complete training

Hours of training are 9am-6pm, Monday - Friday.
Hours After Training:
9am-6pm Monday through Fridays. At times, business needs may not allow for much notice resulting in staying late, shortening lunches to 30 minutes, coming in early the next day, or some Saturday. Must be able to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime.

Skills/Qualifications Required:

• HS Diploma - some college coursework completed or a degree preferred
• Outstanding Attendance and Punctuality
• Excellent Time Management and Multi-tasking Skills
• Strong Computer Skills
• Have a consistent understanding of how Direct Loans will be converted and be familiar with the regulatory guidelines set forth by FSA.
• Must NOT be in default on any federal student loans or defaulted loans that are guaranteed by the federal government (typically 270 days past due)
• Must be able to obtain a Federal 5C Security Clearance after hire
