Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Controls Specialist in our Cleveland, Tennessee Hot Stamping Facility. The Controls Engineer is responsible for designing automated robotic systems to increase production volume in high-throughput operations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. Summary of Responsibilities:
- Conduct research into the feasibility, design, and operation of robotic mechanisms, components, or systemsExecute industrial mechanical knowledge of process automation
- Ensure functional design specifications are understood and successfully delivered on time and within budget
- Involvement in new project engineering and controls programming
- Integrate robotics with peripherals such as welders, controllers, etc.
- Utilize lean-manufacturing principles by improving process capability, reducing overall costs, and increasing capacity
- Ensure compliance with all legislative safety requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution; Programs of study would include Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, and Industrial Controls
- 3 years of relevant experience related to industrial automation and design
- Ability to instruct and retain information
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Proficient using Auto CAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and computer controls systems
- 5 years of relevant experience related to industrial automation and design
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of relevant experience related to industrial automation and design
