Assist the Controls Engineering Supervisor with technical guidance of the controls engineers to develop concepts and well-engineered software designs used in automated assembly systems. Mentor junior systems engineers to accomplish project objectives and use of correct application of standards and practices. Assist Controls Engineering Supervisor in developing ATS standards and practices. Adhere to all established procedures as defined by ATS Quality Procedures, Process Flows, Work Instructions, Safety Procedures, and the Employee Handbook.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily supervision of multiple programming teams on multiple projects with the ability to stay focused on important issues of the day including programming scope, schedule slip and potential budget overrun.
- Provide concise and articulate, well thought out action plans and recovery plans to management of all levels with little or no prior notice.
- Review concepts and estimate labor for Sales and Applications proposals.
- Participate in the planning phase of new projects in coordination with other Operations disciplines.
- Develop and maintain engineering tracking tasklists.
- Develop Functional Specification Document and project SharePoint structure.
- Assign project work to Technical Leads and their teams.
- Attend internal design kickoff meetings.
- Conduct team daily visual management meetings.
- Create internal change order requests for scope change.
- Provide the Controls Engineering Supervisor with feedback for annual performance reviews.
EDUCATION: A BS degree specializing in technology, engineering or equivalent
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 5 years of programming experience is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of management of programming teams with emphasis on driving teams to meeting schedule and budget is preferred. Must be task-driven, detail oriented individual, with the ability to work additional hours as needed. Critical thinking skills are a must. Must have ability to work with and communicate effectively at all levels within the company and with senior client officials.
