POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for day-to-day accounting and banking activities.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS
1. Reinforces HMHD's values, promotes HMHD's Compliance Plan and demonstrates proficiency in understanding of training materials and applicable laws and standards.
2. Completes the required corporate integrity and compliance training and education programs and ensures department employees complete their required education (in a timely manner) according to HMHD policies.
3. Assists the Compliance Officer and the Executive Compliance Committee in identifying "high risk" issues within his/her department.
4. Complies with all HIPAA standards.
5. Responsible and accountable for internal and/or external customer service scores.
6. Maintains general ledger and ensures proper coding of general ledger activity.
7. Accurately generates routine and special reports in a timely manner and distributes as appropriate.
8. Prepares and enters journal entries in an accurate and timely manner and generates financial statements. Assists the Assistant Administrator/CFO in the preparation of the District financial package for the Board of directors.
9. Retains complete and necessary documentation to support District accounting and financial operations.
10. Maintains subsidiary ledgers as necessary (e.g. fixed assets)
11. Assists in the planning, coordination, and preparation for year-end audits by the public accounting firm and third party auditors.
12. Monitors all banking activity to ensure that proper balances are maintained.
13. Maintains all investment activity in accordance with legal requirements and the District investment policies.
14. Works with the Assistant Administrator/CFO and other Administrative/Management team members to maintain up-to-date policies and procedures for overall District financial functions.
15. Responds in an accurate and timely manner to questions from management and other personnel relating to District financial operations.
16. Recognizes and implements needed changes for effectiveness, efficiency, and internal control improvements. Makes suggestions to Assistant Administrator/CFO or other management personnel as needed.
17. Available when needed by the Assistant Administrator/CFO to work on special assigned projects. Establishes necessary priorities to ensure completion in a timely and accurate manner.
18. Continually works to promote public relations, employee relations, and physician relations as related to overall job responsibilities.
19. Performs other duties as required/requested to achieve hospital and/or departmental duties.
