About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious and community-oriented financial professional who enjoys a fast-paced, high-energy, and collaborative team environment. As a direct report to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller drives effective financial management and fiscal integrity for Aloha United Way’s finance department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Oversees and reviews day-to-day, month-end, and annual close cycles encompassing financial transaction processing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, grant management, account reconciliations, journal entries, taxes, and financial reporting.
· Coordinates and manages annual external audit and tax engagements as main point of contact. Works in tandem with Accounting Manager to prepare, compile, and review necessary supporting schedules and documentation for audits and Form 990.
· Develops and maintains financial policies, procedures, and internal controls, ensuring to stay abreast - and interpret impacts – of new developments impacting Aloha United Way’s finance operations.
· Monitors cash flow and prepares forecasts, ensuring adequate funds are available for operating needs.
· Supports the Vice President of Finance with the annual budget development process. Reviews monthly budget vs. actual analysis and partners with Aloha United Way’s division heads on effective budget management.
· Analyzes the effectiveness of existing systems and processes to develop and implement new strategies to increase productivity and alignment with best practices.
· Provides oversight, coaching, and workflow management for a team of 6 FTE, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant administration of the organization’s financial affairs.
· Develop and refine data analyses, metrics, reports, and other deliverables in support of strategic and operational data-driven decisioning.
· Maintains financial systems and records, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial transactions and data.
· Represents Finance on cross-functional organization initiatives as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or any combination of education and nonprofit financial management experience which would provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential duties of this position.
· Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience required with at least 2 years in a supervisor capacity preferred.
· Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant license is a plus.
· Professional experience within nonprofit sector in an accounting, finance, or audit capacity highly desired.
· Experience overseeing and/or processing high volume financial transaction processing preferred.
Essential Skills/Knowledge
· Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced proficiency in Excel.
· Advanced knowledge of accounting software and financial analysis.
· Strong financial leadership and excellence in all aspects of accounting, internal controls, financial reporting, tax compliance, and pertinent rules and regulations.
· Adept at independently extracting, organizing, reconciling, analyzing, and reporting on large pools of unstructured data.
· Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process and/or system improvements that yielded significant efficiency gains.
· Proven ability to work autonomously in establishing and managing multiple priorities that best meet the overall needs of the organization, appeasing tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy, and resolving problems quickly and effectively.
· Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on promoting a collaborative spirit across the organization.
· Genuine team player with an all-hands-on-deck mentality.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
