Controller and Business Manager

AeroTract is a locally owned information service and technology company headquartered in Albany, Oregon. We provide unique services for timber, agricultural, and industrial landowners across the Northwest and expanding geographically. Our 18 person team of software engineers, drone pilots, and foresters use drones and AI / machine learning programs to map and detect landscape, inspect assets, and provide services that allow landowners to have better insights to their land and natural resources, in addition to drone herbicide application and manufacturing of remote sensing drones and equipment. The Controller and Business Manager will be charged with all aspects of the Controllership function with additional assistance on business development and all aspects of business administration. The role encompasses leading the accounting, costing, payroll and benefits, reporting, tax, treasury/cash management, risk and internal controls functions of the business.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

· Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated and consolidating financial statements for the four businesses.

· Ensure that costing, bills of material, and inventory standards are reviewed and updated when new product lines are developed or when changes are made to the manufacturing process on existing units.

· Create accounting policies and procedures among the four business units and recommend and implement appropriate changes to and maintain new and existing policies and procedures.

· Ensure the efficient operation of all treasury and cash management systems.

· Work with management and the external auditors in the preparation of annual accounts and for all city, state, and federal taxes.

· Manage the budget and financial forecasting process in an efficient and detailed manner.

· Manage working capital and cash and aid in the growth of the business

· Supervise the payroll function and ensure that it operates in an efficient and effective manner.

· Supervise the Human Resource and Risk Management functions and ensure efficient and effective operation.

· Continually evaluate industry trends 0n how customers and clients are running billing cycles and analyze industry budgets for similar services.

· Work closely with the four different businesses of the company (The field operations team, spray team, manufacturing team, and software team).

· Some level of client communication and Business development to assess profitability across all aspects of the businesses

The ideal candidate must exhibit the ability to think creatively, communicate at a high level, both verbally and in written form, work well with other Associates at all levels, manage a large number of projects at one time, and establish positive relationships with all the internal and external constituents. To achieve these goals, it is critical that the Controller and Business Manager possesses the following background:

· Three or more years of progressive responsibility in financial and controllership experience

· CPA is preferred

· Experience with Wave, QuickBooks, ADP and other accounting and payroll software.

· Proven effectiveness in developing consolidated financial statements.

· Experience in the forestry and/ or surveying business

· Proven ability in inventory costing, valuation and bills of material management.

· Be able to work closely with the CEO to understand new and existing markets and billing trends across the industry.

· Be able to learn and operate independently while working closely with the CEO.

· Excellent budgeting and forecasting skills.

· Have experience with business development and client relationship management

· Fully computer literate in all respects.

· Highly proficient in G/L accounting in both services and manufacturing environment.

· Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

· Be a highly motivated self-starter with a high degree of initiative, creativity, and problem solving ability.

· Ability to serve as a strong and confident partner to the CEO on a daily basis.

Compensation

· The starting salary ($80000-$120000/yr) will be a function of the person’s experience, background and abilities with opportunities of seasonal bonuses
