SUMMARY
Candidate should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and possess solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Direct financial activities which include the preparation of regular financial reporting, maintaining and developing the financial control functions, regulatory reports, and financial audit management. This position manages the accounting department and its procedures to insure accurate and timely production of financial matters.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Coordinating and preparing monthly close process for internal and external financial statements
- Coordinating activities of external auditors
- Providing management with information vital to the decision-making process
- Accessing current accounting operations and designing recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
- Overseeing the regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
- Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
- Maintain and administer the accounting software and supporting databases and evaluate effectiveness as needed
- Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions. Works with accountant or preps tax returns within require time limits.
- Coordinates audits of company’s accounts and other requested financial inquires appropriately. Gets CFO approval before releasing financial or proprietary information.
- Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies for CFO review before submitting to authorities.
- Manage the collections process

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Should have 5-10 years’ experience in all aspects of accounting.
- Extensive experience administering accounting systems (ERPs)
- Proven supervisory experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skill and accounting software knowledge is required.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
- Proficient knowledge of Excel, problem solving and analytical skills required.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
Requires excellent communication and follow through skills. Occasionally dealing with high stress issues relating to timeliness of reporting. Occasionally lift parts and equipment over 20lbs. Works constantly while sitting (67% to 90% of the time) on the phone and computer entering data and coordinating service. Must be able to move around workplace and between different office locations
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Requires constant contact with staff and public. Work is performed in air conditioned/heated facilities.
