Job Description
The Controller is responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of all accounting information pertaining to the company. This includes:
- Preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports
- Preparation of historical monthly and annual financial statements and reports
- Evaluates Balance Sheet and P&L activity in order to recommend opportunities for financial improvement and facilitate business decisions
- Provides a forward-looking perspective on cash and earnings to facilitate short- and long-term business decisions
- Establishes and maintains internal controls to protect the company’s assets
- Acts as a liaison to external bankers, insurance agents, CPA’s, Payroll Provider, and other outside parties
- Evaluates major capital expenditures – Equipment, Building, and Acquisitions
- Provides forward view of earnings and cash positions
- Ensures the full utilization of accounting and business ERP software to maximize financial operating efficiencies and alignment with company goals
- Works in collaboration with the management on the development of annual budgets. Maintains budget reporting and adjustments throughout the calendar year
Knowledge & Skills:
- Financial acumen and related analysis skills, including P&L, budget planning and creation, understanding pricing strategies and the ability to create accurate revenue forecasting models.
- Strong Cost Accounting experience
- Strong ERP experience (Epicor a plus)
- Inventory Management
- Excellence in organizational management with the proven ability to work cross functionally to get results.
- Superior analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to translate into an executable strategic plan.
- Strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to present and explain complicated information in a clear and concise manner and deliver difficult messages effectively.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills, including executive presence and the ability to establish and maintain rapport/trust with stakeholders at a variety of levels, both internal and external to the company
- Demonstrated ability to foster and develop a strong team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting is required.
- CMA or CPA preferred
- 5-7 years of accounting experience (in manufacturing).
- Experience creating processes and building departments
- 3+ years relevant accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent systems ERP systems experience; experience with Epicor ERP systems preferred
- Strong background in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment and writing detailed financial statements
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
