As a Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting financial decision-making processes by providing insightful analysis, generating accurate financial reports, and conducting thorough financial research. You will work closely with senior management, department heads, and cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations to optimize business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Daily Financial Management-labor, TM fill, Pos, AP spend.
- Oversight of financial statements, content and reporting.
- Provide timely and accurate financial reports and analysis to senior management and other
stakeholders.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Oversight and assistance in preparation of budgets and forecasts including job cost analysis.
- Process VCM changes in budgets, schedules, post pay rates, all related to vcm modification.
- Set up new jobs & remove lost jobs-follow on and off board process.
- Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to improve
financial performance.
Internal Controls:
- Monitor weekly, bi weekly payroll and administer controls -positive pay, bounce backs, ACH
notice of change, load NACHAS, Deductions, etc.
- Ensure Start up Budgets are set prior to start up and monitor spend
- Monitor and modify schedules -PS and Team time to ensure accuracy.
- Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Conduct regular reviews of financial processes and recommend improvements to enhance
efficiency and accuracy.
- Put in place and the go-to for escalation of any cost issues or internal control deficiencies.
Cash Management:
- Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring the availability of funds for operational needs. Create
weekly cash report for owners.
- Implement strategies to optimize working capital and minimize financial risk.
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and other legal
requirements.
- Coordinate and manage external audits, as necessary.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative
work environment. Hold Huddles, 1:1s & 4 box reviews.
- Provide oversight, recommendations, etc. in all accounting and finance functions:
o Accounts Payable
o Accounts Receivable
o Billing
o Payroll
o General Ledger
o Finance/Analysis/Job Cost
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the finance team.
- Play the role of “enforcer” in non-compliance of cost issues and internal control deficiencies.
- Center of communication between departments and willingness to work inter-departmentally
as well as be the “shield” of the accounting/finance department
