Control Panel Designers are responsible for the design of the company’s electrical controls. Duties include preparation of engineering drawings including electrical schematic, panel layout, bill of materials & documentation for control packages. This position reports to the Senior Panel Shop Engineer.
Qualifications
- Dedication to excellence and a quality output.
- Associates of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical software.
- Must be able to work independently, accurately & efficiently.
- Demonstrated organizational & time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Working knowledge of Windows & general computer operation.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel
Responsibilities
The following activities are required in this position:
- Promote excellence throughout the department.
- Design, documentation, testing & troubleshooting of controls.
- Production of detailed electrical schematics and panel layout drawings with bills of materials.
- Panel & logic check-out in the shop before shipment.
- Maintenance of the Production Schedule by finishing work on time.
- Interpretation of Customer specifications.
- “Ownership” and responsibility for projects.
- Others as required by the Senior Panel Shop Engineer.
- Work closely and communicate with other departments regarding current projects.
- Controls Designers represent the company at a high level and must conduct themselves in a professional manner.
