What does a day in the life look like?
  • Training of maintenance techs on Controls for them to be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, or repair tasks on automated equipment, so they can maintain them by themselves.
  • Respond to escalated calls from maintenance technicians with any troubleshooting, diagnostics, or repair tasks on automated equipment.
  • Control, Document, validate, and manage changes to Controls and processes.
  • Software governance. Ensure that the documentation, parameters, and programs are kept current/backed up regularly.
  • Support on new projects related to controls and automation.
  • Lead Odix and i4.0 products implementation.
  • Additional responsibilities as required - this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change.

  • Be proactively involved in improving working conditions.
  • Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them.

  • Understand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding them.

Experience & Education:
  • 2 years degree in electronics, computer science, or equivalent experience. Engineering degree (Automation, Controls, Electronics) is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in programming and troubleshooting robotics equipment (preferably Fanuc and PLC programming).
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in industrial equipment, equipment specification, and equipment installation.
  • Experience in implementing 4.0 technologies/ Data analysis.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficient computer skills/Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Through understanding of the operation, control, and adjustment of automation.
  • Experience with writing operational procedures, documentation systems and project management.
  • Quality Systems Management.
  • Human Development Management.
  • Core Manufacturing Processes (Stamping, Assembly, Painting, Welding, Hydroforming).
  • Analysis and Problem-Solving Methodology.
  • Advanced Computational Skills (Office Proficiency, PowerBi, software programming).
  • Automation Skills (PLC & HMI Programming, Industrial Networks, Communication protocols for industrial automation, Hardware and software selection, and implementation).
