Job description

The Basics:

Tanium is seeking an experienced Contracts Paralegal to join our legal team in support of vendor contracts. The right person for this position will have experience drafting and negotiating legal, privacy and commercial terms in vendor contracts and will be comfortable assessing risks related to data privacy, data security and intellectual property. This role will report into the legal department but a law degree is not required. 

What you'll do:

  • Review and negotiate vendor agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, and DPAs, and assist with escalations in accordance with internal guidelines 
  • Maintain templates and playbooks for use by the procurement team, and provide training as needed 
  • Develop and maintain policies and practices for onboarding, overseeing and offboarding contingent workers (e.g., MSAs, pre-hire checks, training) 
  • Advise procurement on policies and practices for engaging Employer of Record providers 
  • Assist with termination of vendor contracts, including notices of breach and destruction of data requests 
  • Serve as a liaison between Legal, IT, Risk Management and Procurement for vendor security reviews and maintenance of approved data sub-processors 

We're looking for someone with:  

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience 
  • At least 2 years' experience directly negotiating vendor contracts 
  • Paralegal certificate 
  • Exceptionally good oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as part of a tightly-knit team
  • Careful attention to detail

What you'll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $50,000 - $145,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
