Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm

Job Summary: The Contract Subaward Coordinator III drafts, issues, and coordinates the execution of new highly-complex awards and subawards under federal and non-federal sponsored projects under minimal supervision. Ensures new awards and subawards are issued in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, prime sponsor requirements, and University policies. Facilitates negotiations with funding agencies and subrecipients. Assists with reporting obligations such as the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA). Prioritizes and manages multiple projects. Provides guidance, training, and/or supervision to other Contract Subaward Coordinators. Advises faculty researchers and department administrators.

Additional Department Summary: The Contract Subaward Coordinator III will draft, issue, and coordinate execution of outgoing subawards for the Program. Ensure subawards are issued in accordance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, prime sponsor requirements, and University policies. Collaborate with internal and external customers, consult with faculty, department administrators and other internal stakeholders such as the Office for Sponsored Programs, Office for Research & Technology Agreements, Contract & Grant Accounting, and the Office for Research Compliance. Assist with reporting obligations such as the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA).
The Contract Subaward Coordinator III is responsible for independent preparation and processing of grants and contracts for various sources of sponsored funding, particularly large, complex proposal submissions. This process includes the ability to appropriately prioritize and manage multiple projects; advise faculty researchers and department administrators; review and approve required proposal documents; and review applicable sponsor guidelines to ensure that applications are complete, accurate and submitted timely. Ensuring all activities are managed with a high level of service to faculty, staff and external sponsors, including proactive communication and timely responses to inquiries.

Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and seven years of experience in grant and contract development and administration.

Skills and Knowledge: Must be knowledgeable and have experience in independently interpreting and applying federal rules, regulations, and policies in a variety of situations. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking skills. Excellent contract negotiation, electronic research administration, and continuous quality improvement skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree and/or CRA preferred.
