Class Summary
Job DescriptionThis position will be responsible for the management, inspection, and construction oversight on a variety of new preventive/corrective maintenance projects within the Field Operations Group. The incumbent will prioritize and assign inspection work, provide QA/QC of asset inspection documentation, and will also aid with scope definition, budgets, schedules, constructability reviews, and permit administration and compliance. This position will interface with operations and maintenance staff, consultants, contractors, and various governmental departments or divisions. The individual will be responsible for reviewing projects to assure they meet Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources quality requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
Contract Inspection Associate II
Grade B22(2) - $42,210.00-54,873.00
  • Associates in Civil, Mechanical, or Enviornmental Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or a related field
  • Two years of construction experience (water, wastewater or stormwater related projects preferred)
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Water Distribution License (preferred)

Contract Inspection Associate III
Grade C41(2) - $59,039.00-78,227.00
  • Associates in Civil, Mechanical, or Enviornmental Engineering, Business Management, Project Management, or a related field
  • Four years of construction experience (water, wastewater or stormwater related projects preferred)
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Flagging Certification (This must be attached for consideration)
  • Temporary Traffic Control Safety Certification (This must be attached for consideration)
  • Water Distribution License (preferred)

The 14 departments that make up the executive side are Police Services, Fire and Emergency Services, Corrections, Communications, Support Services, Financial Services, Community Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, Law, Planning and Development, Water Resources, Child Advocacy & Juvenile Services, and Transportation. Each department is run by a director who is charged with managing operations in a manner which stresses the County's values.
In addition to the executive side of County government, certain services are provided through Constitutional officers and independent elected officials. These external offices are created by the Georgia Constitution or through state law. In Gwinnett, they include the Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, District Attorney, Solicitor, Probate Court Judge, and Chief Magistrate.
