USA Firmware is a Design Services and Talent Solutions company specializing in hardware, software, electronics, and embedded firmware. USA Firmware provides both in-house design engineering services as well as contractor support.
This is a HYBRID - CONTRACT role located in the Raleigh/Durham area in North Carolina.
Onsite requirement as needed.
Job Title: Bare Metal / Firmware Engineer Contractor
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Experience level: 5+ Years
Role and Responsibilities:
As a Firmware Engineer, you will collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders in the development of diverse products for a variety of clients.
Responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating closely with hardware and software teams to develop firmware for state-of-the-art products.
- Utilizing specialized tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers to diagnose and debug firmware and hardware issues.
- Supporting product lifecycle stages, including requirements gathering, design, development, validation, and documentation.
Desired Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in embedded firmware development.
- Extensive expertise in creating bare-metal C/C++ applications for microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, MSP430, Atmel).
- Proficiency in working with peripherals such as I2C, SPI, USART, DMA, GPIO, ADC, DAC, etc.
- Knowledge in the realm of digital and analog circuit design.
- Familiarity with wired or wireless communication protocols like USB, Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth/BLE.
- Preferred experience in object-oriented programming (e.g., C#, Java)
