MISSION / SUMMARY:
Process and data-driven Manager to serve as a Continuous Improvement change agent and coach for the Plant leadership team on effective deployment, execution and sustainment of lean tools and processes.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Provides internal coaching to site leadership teams on improvements on OEE/Site Capacity and Cost optimization. Strong skills in clearly communicating the why (intent) and the how (execution)
  • Drive productivity and efficiency gains through the reduction of Machine and Material losses to contribute to yearly cost optimization, productivity and critical OEE goals using Lean tools and processes
  • Responsible to champion a culture of empowerment and rigor through GPS (Graphic Production System) governance and measures at all levels through operational reviews.
  • Track/understand GPS impact on the business priorities (results connected with business e.g., Operational Excellence (OPEX) savings triggered by problem-solving activities) and achievements of GPS (e.g., individual/team success stories) to identify potential adjustments / improvements to be implemented
  • Deliver appropriate training and coaching to transfer lean knowledge to plant leaders.
  • Coach and mentor plant leads on GPS strategy & implementation, best practices, and the role of a Leader in a GPS environment
  • Benchmark internally and externally. Be familiar with and drive the organization toward standards that exceed recognized industry best practices.
  • Guide and Coach Site Operations Specialists
  • Lead a team of direct reports to achieve Operational Excellence
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, effectively and expeditiously responding to needs and concerns; Initiate customer visits to proactively align on fitness for use opportunities and execution.
  • Communicate quality results, concerns and coordinate the resolution of high-profile quality issues by partnering with plant operations.
  • Provide QA system related problem solving, process improvement and analytical support to plant operations, on an as needed basis.
  • Serve as backup for QA Manager in times of absence.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Science or related field) strongly preferred. Extensive related work experience required in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in roles of increasing responsibility, working in manufacturing or a related industry in an plant operations or Continuous Improvement management role.
  • Six Sigma certification and/or TPM demonstrated mastery.
  • Strong capabilities and practical application of TPM Education & Training Systems, and tools as well as Daily Management System.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong strategic, analytical problem-solving orientation (TCC/Trouble Cause Correction).
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience successfully leading project teams and departments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and lead a team, including train, coach, mentor, and counsel.
  • Strong safety and product quality orientation.
  • Ability to work independently, in partnership with others, and across departments and functions, to achieve goals.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position, with or without accommodation.
