Continuous Improvement Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for improving performance in our key measurables (SQPD) through the incorporation of lean principles and management of Continuous Improvement projects throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Providing hands-onsupport and facilitation of job hazard analysis, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
• Planning, execution, and follow-up to kaizen events
• Training and coaching on MDI principles plant wide
• Facilitate improvement events, guide the team in using tool sets
• Manage standard documents throughout plant (standard work, 5S checklists, standard op. procedures, etc.)
• Prioritize projects for Continuous Improvement team
• Coach lean principles to the production team (hourly and salaried) on a daily basis
• Actively participate in gemba walks; coach Supervisors and PMs on preparation prior
• Oversee lean training of hourly and salaried employees
• Evaluate machine capacities and goals and work with Production Improve productivity
• Improve flow and WIP levels throughout plant
• Identify key projects to drive improvement with the senior location leader
• Work with Supervisors and PMs to define issues in their area, develop action plans and ensure sustainment.
• Be an expert on the product and process to help define what our standards should be

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited school
• Understanding of basic manufacturing concepts and/or systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Green Belt certification preferred
• Familiarity utilizing and retrieving data from relational databases
• Ability to create clear, organized and interesting presentations and deliver them to diverse audiences
• Ability to use interpersonal skills to co-lead team-based projects, actions, and “do-its” across organizational
