When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other.  We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. Our  Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD)  is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and GET) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

What You Will Do:

  • Measure results.   Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the project goals, objectives, and metrics are being met.  Provide Project Sponsor with the results and take corrective project action as required to improve on results below targets.
  • Recruit and train team members.   Identify potential Black Belts and recruit team members in the 6 Sigma Infrastructure.  Provide necessary training and coaching to team members to spread the base of 6 Sigma Problem Solving tools.
  • Integrate improvement projects.   Ensure projects are integrated with other business activities, improvement projects, and business strategy.
  • Communicate.   Ensure multi-channel communication throughout the organization.  This includes keeping the Project Sponsor informed or program status and ensuring coordination of activities wit other Black Belts.  Also, this includes capturing project case histories that can be re-used for other projects.
  • Provide quantitative data indicating the scope of the operation including current year and forecast sales, net income, total assets controlled, number of personnel, operating budget, and any other quantitative factors which describe the scope of the operation.
  • This position has significant impact on the success of the 6 Sigma.  The improvements will improve the company’s ability to meet customer expectations, improve quality, reduce cycle times, reduce cost, and increase profits.
  • Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

What You Have (Basic Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent years of previous work experience.
  • 5 (plus) years of professional level experience.
