DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Undergo extensive training schedule under the direction of company Economist, which includes, but is not limited to, shadowing and working with Department Managers, spending time observing and studying operations at each manufacturing facility, and meeting and developing relationships with members of Plant and Corporate Management. Analyze and assist with company's processes and make suggestions on how to improve them, working with the Operations and Supply Chain teams in recognizing opportunities, making and implementing changes, and sustaining improvements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with observing, participating, and providing feedback in the daily functions of each department as directed by Economist and Corporate Management Trainee.
  • Assist with studying the organization, structure, and functions for each department and how they interrelate to each other, both from a macro and micro perspective as you gain familiarity with how each department operates.
  • Assist with observing, participating, and providing feedback in department meetings as well as one-on-one meetings with Economist and Corporate Management Trainee to review notes and ask follow-up questions.
  • Visit each company facility to observe and study the inner workings of each plant while being a support, as directed, at meetings with members of Plant Management to develop working relationships and a better understanding of each manager's role within the company.
  • Support and assist with Sales and Product Development to better understand the timeline of a getting a new product from R&D to an actual finalized product.
  • Assist with observing, participating, and communicating with SAP Team to develop high proficiency in understanding data management and tracking and how that information is used to make decisions for the near and long-term future of the company.
  • Assist with development of belly vendor scorecards.
  • Assist with reviewing sustainability strategies and their influence on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) market growth.
  • Evaluate and prioritizing potential improvements based on gains and required effort.
  • Secure employee commitment for proactive change management.
  • Establish criteria for the project's success and preparing a sound statement of constraints/limiting factors.
  • Resolve technical problems such as formulation, equipment, product, interpretation of regulations, and resource availability.
  • Specify deliverables, outcome indicators, and performance-measured indicators.
  • Identify available resources (employees, material, and finances).
  • Regularly monitor the implementation of solutions to achieve objectives and expected benefits.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
  • Follow SugarCreek safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's Degree-seeking program with a major in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Food Science, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Statistics or similar field.
Experience: None required.
Certification or Licensure Requirements: None required.
ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Know how to use Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess basic mathematic skills.
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with Python/SQL or other database languages.
  • Ability to understand Microsoft PowerBI visualizations.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
The Corporate Management Trainee experience is required prior to becoming Data Analytics, Trading and Risk Management Manager. No unusual physical requirements.
Physical requirements are consistent with management trainee positions, including mostly sitting with some standing/walking required. Other light physical activity like using stairs or occasionally moving items weighing less than 15lbs may be required as needed. Some travel is required in between plants.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Some travel to other locations is required. Some work is performed in a comfortable, indoor, office-like facility. Some work is performed in an indoor, manufacturing facility with close proximity to heavy and hazardous machinery. Safety wear is required, including hard hat, hairnet, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toe boots, coats and other necessary equipment. Some work is performed outside of the manufacturing facility.
