Summary

 

The Continuous Improvement Business Performance Manager will lead a central CI Team of 4 to deploy tools, processes and transform the business to a CI culture through partnering with the Continuous Improvement team, business, and functional leaders to ensure acceleration of Continuous Improvement methodology, Continuous Improvement culture and tools to enhance how business is managed to ensure success. This role will have responsibility for the creation and execution of deploying transformational tools and processes to drive behaviors focused on data and Continuous Improvement to improve business results. In this role, you will help the organization work through ambiguity in standing up initiatives and manage a team of Business Performance Leaders to deploy across the network. In addition, you will develop and maintain the Continuous Improvement toolbox including training development and corporate standards, providing high level visibility with senior executives. The CI Business Performance Management is viewed as a critical capability and success factor to effectively support developing a World Class Poultry operation that delivers sustainable, repeatable results. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director of Continuous Improvement.     

 

This position is remote but requires travel to facilities and HQ as requested.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Manage a team of Business Performance Leaders to deploy standard ways of managing and tracking performance across our business.
  • Serve as a central CI team leader to support the CI team, business and functional teams for building capability, deploying initiatives and assisting in transformational culture.
  • Manage Supply Chain Productivity Program, with the primary objective of aligning each opportunity with P&L, quantify target impact and track value realization efforts for supply chain.
  • Lead annual diagnostic process for all locations that is repeatable and delivers clear loss analysis where top opportunities exist.
  • Responsible for the development, refinement and awareness of CI toolbox and associated capability build.
  • Develop a plan to deploy and support Business and Functional leaders’ strategy to integrate CI into daily operations and support.
  • Develop and execute strategies on how to best leverage CI tools and processes to drive culture and results.
  • Work as a critical partner in the CI Leadership Team to develop and implement the CI Strategic Plan.
  • Develop Continuous Improvement Managers’ skill sets with the tools as well as effective implementation techniques.
  • Develop and deliver the appropriate training materials and learning techniques that are adapted to application, opportunity, and audience.
  • Utilize methodology, coaching, assessing, and teaching to improve the overall health of CI program.
  • Travel to identified locations to coach, train and deploy needed tools and processes.
  • Promotes the transformation from a reactive organizational culture to one that is more preventative and predictable, utilizing data driven decision-making, sustainable actions, and the Continuous Improvement tools.

Minimum Education and Experience

 

BS degree in Operations Management, Business Management, Engineering or related, and 10+ years or more leading Continuous Improvement or business transformations. Equivalent related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

 

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • A solid operational or Continuous Improvement background. Prior exposure to Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence tools.
  • Core competencies to include Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen Event Facilitation, Root Cause Analysis, Microsoft Office, Power App/BI Platform and Minitab working knowledge. Should not only demonstrate the ability to “do” but also “teach” in the various techniques.
  • Experience participating and leading Business Performance meetings (MOS, DMS, Tier Meetings, etc.)
  • Proven experience in a willingness to promote and drive change; able to communicate and work with teams at all organizational levels from senior management to shop floor; strong communication, organization and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn new concepts, combined with common sense and effectively apply to problem solving. A combination of business, interpersonal, technical and analytical skills while being motivated by challenge.
  • Works well in a team environment, with enhanced ability to leverage influential leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to accommodate different shifts and travel to locations will be necessary.
  • Ability to travel to support Deployment and capability building efforts. Estimated travel of 60%.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Position is mostly in plant environment but requires office work and extensive travel.
May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
May need to access files, supplies and equipment.
Work activity is mostly in plant environments. 
When in a plant environment:
Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
•    May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
•    May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.
•    May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.
•    Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
