Job Summary
In the MWSU Center for Academic Support (CAS), Content Tutoring is a term used to describe tutoring for subject areas other than general studies mathematics or writing. Content Tutors are listed for specific courses on the CAS website, and all Content Tutors are hired because of their knowledge of the discipline(s).
Essential Duties
- Attending a one-hour tutor training
- Entering and updating availability on TutorTrac throughout the semester to allow students to schedule tutoring appointments
- Meet and tutor students on course material
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Content Tutor Coordinator and discuss problems or potential problems as needed
- Review course notes, textbook, etc. as needed to maintain necessary knowledge of the material
Required Qualifications
- MWSU Student
- Degree Seeking
- Enrolled at least part-time
- Must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Received an A or B in the course applicant is interested in tutoring.
- Recommendation by the professor who currently teaches the course or who has taught the course in the past, or, in special situations, the department chairperson.
