Job description

Black Rock Galleries seeks a dynamic and creative Content Creator & Social Media Specialist to join our AuctionNinja (AN) team. As a key member of our marketing department, you will be responsible for producing engaging content across various digital channels and managing our SOCIAL MEDIA voice and presence to drive brand awareness and engagement.

This is full-time hybrid position based in Fairfield County, CT that requires travel to local/regional AN seller locations for content acquisition for campaigns and projects.

Black Rock Galleries' AuctionNinja (AN) division is a dynamic online estate auction software and marketplace known for its Seller’s selection of estate items spanning furniture, decorative and fine arts, antiques, collectibles, and more. This marketplace provides a seamless user experience and a vibrant community of sellers and buyers. AN is a trusted platform where enthusiasts and collectors alike discover unique items, participate in exciting auctions, and connect with like-minded individuals passionate about estate sales and auctions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The nature of our dynamic work environment may require additional duties and responsibilities as necessary. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • ContentCreation & Strategy. Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with AN’s brand identity and marketing objectives. Create high-quality, compelling content for multiple channels including SOCIAL MEDIA platforms, website, blog, and more. Collaborate with the marketing team to generate ideas and campaigns for content that resonate with our target audience and drive engagement. Plan and schedule SOCIAL MEDIA posts, ensuring consistent messaging and brand voice across all channels. Grow our SOCIAL MEDIA channel audiences through strategic initiatives such as contests, giveaways, competitions, and other engaging campaigns. Monitor SOCIAL MEDIA channels for trends, news, and conversations relevant to the estates/auction industry and incorporate them into our content strategy.
  • Community Engagement & Interaction. Engage our online community by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner. Actively interact with sellers, bidders, partners, collaborators, and audience members to gather user-generated content for campaigns, such as testimonials, photos, and videos, to enhance our marketing efforts and foster a sense of community.
  • Analysis and Reporting. Analyze and report on the performance of content and SOCIAL MEDIA campaigns using metrics such as engagement, reach, and conversion rates. Conduct A/B testing on content to optimize performance. Assess the effectiveness of different content formats (e.g., videos, infographics, blog posts). Analyze audience demographics and behavior to tailor content accordingly. Monitor competitor activities and analyzing their strategies. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to content and SOCIAL MEDIA metrics in order to identify areas for improvement.
  • Fieldwork & Content Acquisition. Travel to local/regional AN Marketplace Seller sale sites (typically in the tri-state area) to gather content (video, photos, etc.) for use in SOCIAL MEDIA and marketing materials. Interact and communicate professionally with both internal and external clients during pick-ups, behind-the-scenes tours, etc.
  • Multi-Functional / Cross-Functional Support. Demonstrate a multi-functional attitude by actively participating in various roles as needed by the Company. Provide inter-departmental support (as needed) with a willingness to jump in.
  • Brand Ambassadorship. Act as a brand ambassador by embodying the values and image of BRG and its brands, fostering positive relationships with clients, and promoting a professional and reputable image during all interactions. This includes working with transparency and integrity, being trustworthy with confidential information, ensuring “big-picture’ methodology to approaching tasks, and complying with company policies, procedures and regulations ((documented, written, and/or verbal).
  • Other. Exhibit a polished and professional demeanor with both internal and external clients. Also, perform other duties as needed/assigned as business needs and requirements evolve.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • At least three (3) years’ proven experience in content creation and SOCIAL MEDIA management, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to create content that is clear, concise, and engaging.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Proficiency in using SOCIAL MEDIA management tools such as Hootsuite, Later, Hubspot, etc.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and experience optimizing content for search engines is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and visual communication.
  • Honesty and integrity is a must!
  • Available to work occasional weekends (content acquisition)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The annual salary range for this full-time position is $60,000-$65,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Our competitive compensation package also includes PTO, 401(k) retirement savings, healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance, and other ancillary benefits including employee discount on showroom purchases.

The Company offers some flexibility with actual hours worked in order to provide you with a work/life balance. This is a hybrid position based out of AN’s Fairfield County office. Work may be performed at AN’s HQ, remotely, or at a Seller’s location, at the discretion of the management.

Please note, weekend hours and responsibilities may be necessary. Collaboration with your management team is necessary to determine weekly scheduling priorities (e.g., Tuesday through Saturday schedule, Monday through Friday, etc.).
