Job Overview
As an Intern in the Global Technology Business Unit, you will:
Contribute to new connector materials developments, working in the Middletown PA, Corporate Technology Materials group.
Work on projects related to Contact Physics and Tribology.
Evaluate new plated contact finishes, lubricants, and study wear of materials.
Responsibilities
Conduct tribological tests related to Contact Physics, lubricants, and wear of materials.
Support evaluations of process capabilities and material properties
Contribute to ideation for development projects.
Document findings in PowerPoint / Word
Share project findings in team presentations.
You're the kind of person we are looking for if you:
Have Received a High School Diploma or GED
Are currently enrolled in a program or pursuing a BA/BS or MA/MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering , Metallurgical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or Materials Science from an accredited college or university or have equivalent work history. (In certain circumstances, students who are taking a gap year will be considered.)
Are familiar with laboratory operations.
Have research experience in applying tribological methods to materials science problems.
Are familiar with typical tribological characterization techniques such as wear/friction testing, scratch testing and nanoindentation as well as optical microscopy, SEM/EDS, surface profilometry and contact angle measurements.
Have a basic understanding of lubricants and or formulations (would be a plus).
Can maintain effective project documentation.
Can work collaboratively within a team environment
Have previous internship or large project experience is preferred
Are authorized to work in the U.S.
Compensation
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $18.20 - 38.64 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Mentors serve as a guide to navigate the organization and provide additional support in their career endeavors at the company. Our program provides a holistic experience for interns that targets professional development and personal growth.
Our internship program typically runs May thru August and gives students the opportunity to work on projects that contribute to the success of their team and build on their classroom experience. Throughout the 10-12-week program, interns will be provided with:

Timeline
TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
