Position Summary

With moderate supervision, efficiently guides members through the loan process and determines member's creditworthiness based on credit union guidelines. Conduct loan interviews and underwrite and decision Consumer Loans and credit cards within specified limits and policy guidelines; referring loan applications outside of limits for management or committee approval. Close loans and maintain borrower files. Review loan agreements, including payments and terms, to ensure accuracy and completion according to policy and procedural guidelines. Stay abreast of new loan types, policies, practices and procedures in order to meet member needs and promote credit union services.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED Required

Experience

• Two (2) years Consumer Lending Preferred

Qualifications and/or Additional Functions

• Willingness to continue education of lending best practices through related seminars, courses, and workshops
• May require at certain times of the year to work some evenings, weekends (Saturdays), and holidays
• Proficient with Microsoft office products:
  • Microsoft Word
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Outlook
• Ability to navigate loan and core systems for processing loans
• Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing work situations

Certification & Licensures

• Notary Public, State of MD - Optional

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the successful candidate is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, keyboards or controls; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms and stoop or kneel. Must regularly lift and/or move files and equipment up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pound objects. Specific vision characteristics required by this position include close vision, adjust focus, and view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
