Why should you join the team?
As a Consulting Systems Engineer (CSE), you will be acting as the technical consultant to multiple customers supporting the Intelligence Community (IC). You will work closely with the sales team and fellow subject matter experts (SMEs) to provide mission-aligned strategies to ensure the customer is identifying the right solutions to solve their technology challenges.
What will you be doing?
The Consulting Systems Engineer role is to achieve impressive goals by offering World Wide Technology's advanced suite of products through multiple OEM's including Cisco, Dell, HP, NetApp and VMware, to name a few. The CSE, in partnership with a talented Account Manager, will build consultative relationships as the technical liaison. Their focus is on expanding WWT's footprint of services capabilities from deployment services to post deployment strategic staffing. This position will support customers across multiple locations across the continental United States. It is expected the position will be primarily located in St. Louis, Missouri with the potential for up to 20% travel.
  • The CSE is a highly skilled customer-focused technical sales professional focused on Defense Agencies supporting Cisco, VMware Data center, Hyper Converged and Infrastructure solutions.
  • The CSE has the ability and experience to position business relevance around Infrastructure Modernization, Multi-Cloud Architecture, Security Transformation and Digital Strategy
  • The CSE provides an advanced level of in-depth technical information in at least one specialization and provides design and implementation guidance to one or more customers in a dedicated manner.
  • The CSE has direct technical accountability for specific opportunities and accounts, leveraging knowledge across a broad portfolio, as well as his or her technical specializations. He or she collaborates with the Account Manager(s) on strategic, large and complex opportunities and coordinates additional resources (e.g. technical specialists, ATC labs, etc.) to recommend, develop, and propose appropriate customer solution and services offerings.
  • The CSE acts in a highly effective and consultative fashion and is looked to as a trusted advisor by the account team, partners (OEMs) and the customer at the technical and Manager/Director level.
  • The CSE develops and sustains relationships with customer technical staff, identifies opportunities and develops solutions aligned to their understanding of the customer's mission and support requirements and takes a lead role in mentoring team members.

Responsibilities:
  • Aligns with WWT Sales team to supporting Intelligence Community customers in the Northern Virginia area.
  • Uses knowledge of technology, products and services to build innovative solutions (and solution options) for the customer.
  • Works with clients, WWT architects, WWT Global Engineering Team (GET) and WWT Sales team to obtain technical priorities, challenges, and initiatives that can be translated into WWT's suite of solutions focus areas.
  • Responsible for the coordination, delivery, and quality of presales deliverables within the domain of the opportunity which may include items such as configurations, architectural diagrams, and proposals.
  • Provide workshops and support demonstrations to customers in support of account team opportunities.
  • Ensures that proposed solutions, when implemented, meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer.
  • Coordinate solution development leveraging best practices and researching customized solutions.
  • Develop and foster relationships with strategic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and key partners.
  • Support the Account Team sales gross profit number.
  • Develops and fosters relationships with strategic original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and key networking partners who are local to your region and/or territory.
  • Assists in Statement of Work and Proof of Concept review and development.
  • Ensures that proposed solutions, when implemented, meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree (preferred in Engineering, Computer Science or related field) or equivalent experience
  • Display a technical acumen of multiple technologies and/or solutions (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, and/or equivalent).
  • Experience in a federal, Intel or DoD IT field, as a Technical Specialist, System Engineer, or comparable.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and consultative technical sales skills.
  • Knowledge working with multiple of the following disciplines: Route/Switch, Digital Workspace, Wireless, Cloud, Automation, Security, and Collaboration.
  • Ability to work in both a team environment and have the ability to be a self-starter.

  • Expected the position will be located in St. Louis, Missouri Area. The position includes a potential for up to 20% travel.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance w/ CI Poly or eligibility to be cleared at this level.
