Job Summary and Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY

The Consulting High Management Analyst is a strategic position within ITG that provides analytical, technical and innovative skills to cover a broad range of disciplines essential for maintaining high availability. They will work directly with product and infrastructure teams on a consulting basis to ensure all of our critical systems/applications across the enterprise adhere to all aspects of high availability expectations: DR/resiliency, alerting/monitoring, supportability, accurate accounting of infrastructure, HA configuration across compute, storage and network, etc… Designs optimal operational processes and tooling to enable application and platform teams the ability to measure maturity in meeting the HCA IT&S Service Management standards and requirements. This individual will plan, coordinate, evaluate, monitor, and implement the high availability program. They will also ensure measurability for each of the standards is defined and the critical applications/systems and supporting infrastructure adhere to these requirements.

The Consulting High Management Analyst will also be a back-up member of the ITG Architecture Review Board to ensure that architecture reviews consider all disciplines of service management that lead to high availability and resiliency of the solutions being reviewed. This role will interact with all parts of ITG, Product Development, Field Services, IPS, PMCoE, Internal Audit including our senior leaders.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

• With an in-depth knowledge of HA best practices, consult and manage the High Availability (HA) program across the enterprise

• Provide design criteria and solutions for measuring and enabling HA Standard processes and definitions

• Create and maintain HA program roadmap in regard to short and long range goals and objectives

• Create and maintain measurable KPIs for the HA applications

• Create and manage a leadership dashboard for current status of HA apps/systems

• Outline and escalate exceptions and deliver resolutions

• Evaluate new applications to determine HA/SMO criteria

• Ensure training for HA/SMO requirements for appropriate enterprise teams

• Plan, schedule, and facilitate HA Assessments and deliver results in a compelling manner that drive action

• Ensure action plans and goals are solidified into ITG processes

• Continually evaluate, innovate and improve the HA program and measurement

• Leads service management discussion in Architecture review meetings and provides constructive feedback to delivery teams on behalf of the entire SMO

• Continue to mature the HA and SMO programs

• Consults and collaborates with HCA Development Teams to ensure that solutions meet service management requirements

• Ensures that service management methodology and technology needs/gaps are fulfilled in a way that can be adopted in a standard way across the enterprise

• Stays current on IT industry best practices and leading methods and technologies in the area of service management and advocates for them for HCA where appropriate

• Collaborates with other IT&S stakeholders to develop, execute, and continuously improve solution implementation and support practices

• Develops and delivers communication and training on our service management standards, methods, and technologies

• Ability to communicate and develop strategic partnerships with various areas enterprise-wide: IS&O, IT Divisions, Product Development, Enterprise Architecture and IT Service Lines (PSG, HealthTrust, etc.), IPS, PMcOE, EA as needed on service management related needs

• Implements metrics to measure the effectiveness and opportunities of Service Management and HA

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required

Master’s degree preferred

EXPERIENCE

Must have 10+ years of relevant work experience required

Must have 3+ years of management work experience required

OTHER/SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of Information Technology experience with at least 4 years in Service Management and/or Delivery disciplines

• Consulting experience in system deployment, management, and support

• Experience in a large, complex health care environment is preferred

• Experience working with solution delivery teams

• Experience in an environment using Agile as well as more traditional methods and delivery environments

• Proven ability to influence solution delivery teams on best practices in service management

• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner

• Demonstrated ability as a team player who encourages continuous improvement and innovation

• Strong problem and issue resolution experience

• Ability to prioritize multiple activities and tasks simultaneously, and adapt to a rapidly changing environment

• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

• Proficiency in various technologies employed in all aspects of service management

• Experience with budgeting

• Technical knowledge with different applications, network, servers, storage

• Ability to work independently and drive a program

• Detailed oriented and analytical with good organization skills

• Demonstrated ability to facilitate diverse groups of people in a problem-solving environment

• Strong problem and issue resolution experience and create quality deliverables

• Possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with individuals at various levels within the organization

• Understanding of use of technologies in a healthcare environment.

• Experience with Process Improvement and Project Management methodologies preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Overtime and weekend hours may be required to meet deadlines.

• Sitting for extended periods of time.

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other devices and objects.

• Physically able to participate in person training sessions, presentations, and meetings.

• Travel may be required.
