The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in woodworking, a thorough understanding of Construction Trades, and the ability to instruct and inspire high school students.
Responsibilities:
- Implement a comprehensive curriculum for the Construction Trades program, with a focus on woodworking techniques and skills.
- Instruct students on safe and proper use of woodworking tools and machinery.
- Create engaging and interactive lessons that align with industry standards and educational objectives.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and skill development.
- Provide constructive feedback and assessment on student projects, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate interdisciplinary projects and real-world applications into the curriculum.
- Stay current on industry trends and advancements in Construction Trades and woodworking.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Woodworking certification or significant hands-on experience in woodworking.
- Previous teaching experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
