Construction - Steel Estimating Lead

Quality Ironworks, is Dallas based steel fabrication company that focuses on the construction industry and is currently hiring a Steel Estimating Lead. The Estimating Lead works with the company’s sales team with a focus on preparing estimates while building a successful process for proposal development and developing an estimating team. This role is responsible for the proposal development process, coordinating with subcontractors and assigned estimating staff.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Manage projects through various phases of preconstruction (budget, estimate, bid, turnover, etc)
• Review construction contracts insuring they match scope from proposals.
• Manage bid process (document management, bid forms, proposals, etc.)
• Manage pre-construction process for effective customer relationships, internal efficiencies and company profitability.
• Mange subcontractors for successful takeoffs.
• Coordinate work across multiple internal departments and engineering consultants.
• Perform takeoffs and produce detailed estimates.
• Present proposal deliverables to clients and sales team
• Develop assigned estimating staff.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret detailed construction contracts, drawings and specifications and communicate findings with team.
• Minimum (3) years’ experience in steel construction (structural, stairs and miscellaneous)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Technical skills including MS Office Suite and Bluebeam
• Tekla Structures a plus
