What You'll Do:

Airport Security is a section of the Airport Operations Division of Denver International Airport and is comprised of two (2) units: Badging & Background Services and Compliance & Enforcement. This Construction Security Manager position is within the Compliance and Enforcement unit, and will:
  • Serve as the Construction Liaison responsible for providing security and regulatory guidance to project management teams, initiative oversight, and technical expertise for airside and landside construction projects.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between departments, teams, or organizations. You will serve as a bridge, connecting and coordinating efforts to ensure smooth operations regulatory compliance, and efficient decision-making. Maintaining strong relationships are key responsibilities of this position.
  • Supports Airport Security section and participates in the formation of operating policies and procedures, provides advice and interpretative information pertaining to policies and procedures, evaluates proposed changes to policies and procedures including the merit and overall impact of changes to the functional area, and makes recommendations.
  • Performs a variety of specific administrative activities/projects, participates in the development of long range and short-term planning initiatives for the functional area, and serves as a liaison with other departmental officials, community groups, and/or other units in all matters related to Airport Security construction projects.
  • Work in a collaborative team structure with other members of each project team for landside and airside projects.
  • May perform supervisory work over a small section(s) and provide administrative support, leadership, direction, and long range/short term planning. Directs performance criteria for the assigned area(s) in conjunction with departmental plans and goals.
  • Serves as an alternate Airport Security Coordinator, providing 24/7 coverage.

We are looking for someone with some or all the following skills and experience:
  • Experience working in a construction environment that is regulated by local, state and/or federal requirements
  • Familiarity with Airport Operations and collaborating with Project Management teams
  • Experience in creating/managing aviation security programs and/or projects.
  • Interacts with customers in a friendly and professional manner, works to resolve issues quickly and effectively, and is a team player
  • Shows respect for the views and contributions of other team members. Shows empathy, listens, supports, and cares for others, and reconciles conflict.
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills.

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Management or a related field.
  • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience of the type and at the level of Airport Security Administrator supporting field operations in a medium or large hub civilian airport or military facility.
  • Education and Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post- high school education.
  • Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
  • License/Certification Requirement: This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
  • Successful completion of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Airport Certified Employee (ACE) Security training within (6) months of employment.
  • Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Snow / Emergency Duties: Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts
