Construction Project Scheduler

Office Location: 601 First Street NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

Position Classification: Full-Time Regular


About This Opportunity

As a Project Scheduler at Rockford Construction, you will accurately forecast, monitor and manage Construction Project schedules. In addition, you will provide resource loading, cost loading and general sequencing using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project software. The ideal candidate will have an excellent communication skills and be an advocate for team collaboration, safety, and innovation. This position reports directly to the Director of Construction Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Work with preconstruction and operations construction departments including Estimators, Superintendents and Project Managers to create, update and manage all types of construction schedules as well as document and project the impact of change orders and/or delays to the project schedule.
  • Have direct communication with leadership regularly to communicate project schedules status and progress.
  • Meet with Estimators, Project Managers and Superintendents weekly to create, update and review project schedules.
  • Lead internal and external project schedule meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineer, Business Management, or similar.
  • A minimum of 2 years of project scheduling work experience in the construction industry.
  • Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project Software experience.
  • Reliable transportation; interstate travel required.
  • Understand concepts of baseline schedule, progress schedule and recovery schedules, along with the use and knowledge of construction terminology and concepts.
  • Must possess the ability to be flexible, detail-oriented, prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once.

Environmental Factors

The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction sites. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subjected to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times outside the job trailer. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less.
