Location: Tomah Veterans Affairs Medical Center 500 E. Veterans St Tomah, WI 54660
The Project Managerwill have responsibilities that include but are not limited to the administration of construction, design/build, engineering, and facilities management for complex-Construction Projects. Services will include, but not limited to, pre-design phase services, design phase services, procurement phase services, construction services, claims services, administration services, and technical specialty services.REQUIRED
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be eligible and able to pass a federal background check, as well as complete the necessary processes to receive a VA Personal Identity Verification (PIV) badge.
- Must provide a minimum of three (3) projects of the scale and difficulty of this project and scope of work in which he/she held a similar position.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field from an accredited University.
- Educational requirements may be substituted by fifteen (15) years of directly related experience.
- Professional experience shall include 7 years of experience in the management of facility Construction Projects including supervision of engineering, design and construction, schedule control, cost management and program budgeting, and overall project management activities.
- Must be able to read and interpret construction documents and communicate effectively with project construction team members.
- Experience in healthcare projects/facilities shall be preferred.
- Shall provide EHRM project construction management while providing decisive direction regarding business, technical, and project management involving multidisciplinary and diverse functional activities.
- Shall be responsible for the overall management, in terms of technical quality, cost, and schedule.
- Shall maintain daily progress reports and inspection reports and shall lead the inspection and quality assurance team assigned to projects to ensure timely and effective project oversight.
- Project Management: Ability to oversee and manage Construction Projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with various stakeholders, including contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, clients, and regulatory authorities.
- Organization: Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, documents, and deadlines simultaneously, ensuring smooth project progress.
- Construction Knowledge: Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, methods, and safety protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Contract Management: Proficiency in reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to project requirements and budget constraints.
- Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, environmental requirements, and other legal obligations to ensure project compliance and avoid potential issues or delays.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues or challenges during Construction Projects and develop effective solutions to mitigate risks and keep the project on track.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to review construction plans, specifications, and documents accurately, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using construction management software, project management tools, and Microsoft Office suite to manage project documentation, budgets, schedules, and communication.
- Teamwork: Collaborative mindset to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and Project Managers, to achieve project goals and objectives.
