Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sitework Project Manager/Field Supervisor to oversee turnkey heavy highway, site development, and utility projects. The ideal candidate should thrive in an independent work environment and possess strong organizational and leadership skills.
Job Duties:
- Coordinate all aspects of assigned project(s) utilizing support personnel, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Read and understand the plans and specifications.
- Coordinate purchasing, submit material and methods for approval as well as coordinate arrival of material within project schedules.
- Interact with client and staff to prepare project schedules, attend meetings, keep up with and distribute plan revisions and addenda, as well as keeping daily reports and inspecting work.
- Be a professional customer friendly representative to our clients. Communicating with customer supervisors, peers, subordinates, subcontractors, and owners.
- Supervise site crews and schedule logistics with internal company schedulers.
- Utilizing e-mail, send and receive files, including plans and write correspondence. Use common computer apps such as Microsoft Word or Excel.
- Determining and discussing project methods and procedures with staff in regular meetings.
- Understand and practice safety requirements. OSHA 30 hr. desired. Will provide training if not.
- Anticipating and resolving field problems.
- Ability to review plans in CADD or PDF formats.
Minimum Qualifications
- Site-specific construction knowledge.
- Experience in reading site specific plans and specs.
- Working knowledge of basic geotechnical testing and reporting terminology preferred.
- Basic Software such as Microsoft Excel and Word
- Knowledge of or ability to learn various project management platforms and construction-based software.
- CADD and PDF basics for purposes of reading, printing, and distributing plans.
- Knowledge of civil construction basics and interpretation of technical documents
- Some survey knowledge, more is better.
Education/Certifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute, or similar experience.
- License, Certificate or Registration: OSHA 30-hour training (desired, but not necessary) will provide the opportunity to receive once onboarded.
