Summary
Pentex Restaurant Group is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to be the primary contact for Taco John’s restaurant development projects. The Construction Project Manager position would coordinate new construction, remodel, and large cap ex projects for a fast-growing regional franchisee company.
Pentex Restaurant Group operates in over 40 locations in eight states (ND, SD, MN, WI, IA, MT, IL, and MO) with nearly 1,200 employees and growing. We are the leading franchisee of Taco John’s restaurants, and we own and operate 2 HuHot Mongolian Grill restaurants.
Travel - 50% of the time. Company vehicle is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary direct contact for bid procurement, General Contractor supervision and general project oversight for all new restaurant builds and remodels.
- Partners with appointed architects and civil engineers to develop construction plans and specifications and is able to communicate construction decisions timely.
- Responsible for all coordination efforts between third parties including architects, engineers, equipment vendors and General Contractors.
- Delivers accurate and timely project status updates to CEO and VP of Operations informing them of potential challenges, delays, cost changes and questions.
- Provides frequent project status reports, documentation, technical assistance, support and collaboration with all vendors and office staff.
- Tracks all project expenditures including change orders with proper communication.
- Holds contractors and vendors accountable for timelines and deliverables.
- Maintains proper project documentation and is very well-organized.
- Fosters effective and positive business relationships with all parties throughout project phases.
- Complies with all Pentex Restaurant Group, Taco John’s International, and government standards.
- Adheres to company policies, procedures, mission, vision, and values.
- Attends required company meetings, trainings, and participates in constructive discussion. Other duties assigned as necessary.
Skills/Qualifications Requirements
- Professional degree in Architecture or related degree that includes practicum.
- 5 years of field experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively – written and verbal.
- Has previous success with Construction Project management systems/tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use judgement to make appropriate decisions to effectively problem solve as necessary.
- Be a self-starter, ability to work both independently as well as with other staff and management.
- Represents self and company in a professional and positive manner.
- Results oriented and with a track record of operating and financial success.
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Language: English
- Current Driver’s License
