Job Title:Project Accountant, Construction
Reports To: Head of Accounting & VP of Operations
SavCon is looking for an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Level Project Accountant to join our growing department, support our Head of Accounting and assist in restructuring the department as we continue to increase our project volume.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Review and finalize field-generated project requisitions in Procore for third-party projects.
· Manage subcontractor disbursements by confirming insurance and contract compliance and obtaining lien waivers.
· Maintain monthly project spreadsheets, logs, and status reports to ensure proper record-keeping and project summary snapshots.
· Generate Monthly General Conditions Profit & Loss reports per project to review with the project team prior to issuance of owner pencil
· Support Project Accounting staff in related-party reporting
· Participate in the preparation and interpretation of documents for Executive Management (Cash Flow, Income Statements, etc.)
· Assist with maintaining third-party WIP schedules for auditors.
· Assist project management team during financial closeout.
· Assist with month-end/quarter-end closing processes including auditor-requested documents.
· Prepare financial reports and compile information as requested.
· Record owner, subcontractor and General Conditions invoices in Yardi
· New vendor setup / W-9 tracking.
Preferred Prerequisites:
· Minimum of three years of construction accounting experience including but not limited to cost coding, AIA G702/703 progress billings, etc
· At least 2 years working with Yardi.
· Basic working knowledge of Procore software
· Strong analytical and organizational skills
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills
· Ability to work independently and multi-task in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or relevant field preferred
