Construction Inspectors

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC seeking Construction Inspectors to provide construction management services for the Weapons Generation Facility (WGF) construction project at Barksdale Air Force Base (AFB).
The Inspectors will manage the overall construction Weapons Generation Facility at Barksdale, AFB. Will perform quality assurance on the construction contractor's daily construction activities along with Government Construction Management Engineers (CME) and Government Construction Engineering Technicians (CET).
Responsibilities Include:

• Coordinate requests from Construction Contractor and Client.
• Coordinate request from the construction Contractor for outage requests, excavation permits, burn permits, haul routes and other similar items.
• Track status of the various requests
• Conduct progress briefings of construction management metrics such as significant events, highlights, non-compliance, safety, quality, and environmental updates
• Provide technical review of construction submittals and deliverables
• Review progress charts, schedules for contractors
• Schedule submittal requirements
• Monitor safety plans and construction work plans and ensure work is compliant with scope and applicable regulations.
• Witness testing of waste, gas, water, electrical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection, elevator, boiler and energy monitoring control systems as prescribed in BPMS B-1.6.7.1 Acceptance Testing for Critical Systems. The inspector shall note results and provide recommendations for acceptance or rejection of such systems on the CRR
• Monitor materials testing
• Assist with pre-final inspections
• Maintain working files
• Provide cost estimating services
• Monitor as-built preparations and as-built drawings
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications include:

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university, a Bachelors degree in construction management from an ABET or ACCE accredited university, a Bachelors degree in architecture from a NAAB accredited university. A CSE may substitute an additional five years experience for a Bachelors degree
• Minimum seven (7) years experience as Construction Inspector, Project Engineer, Quality Control manager of a similar size construction project
• Knowledge of construction scheduling methods and familiarity with Microsoft Project, Primavera Suretrak/P3/P6
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Adobe Professional and RS Means/CostWorks
• Ability to communicate effectively, concisely and authoritatively in English both orally and in writing.
• Experience in preparing correspondence, written reports, and in briefing management personnel.
• Knowledge of construction practices and techniques, e.g., proper applications of construction materials and methods of installation.
• OSHA 30 Hour Construction Training (2 years or newer)

Work Environment

• Will be required to perform duties that involve moderate walking over rough, uneven or slippery surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders, walking up and down several flights of stairs or similar activities, recurring lifting of moderately heavy objects less than 50 lbs. such as testing or measuring equipment, and regular visits to construction sites.
