The Stormwater is looking for a Construction Inspector. This position performs technical and professional inspections on storm-water construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and ordinance.

- Observes and documents stormwater construction projects.
- Maintains daily project log book.
- Reviews plans, specifications, and shop drawings for contract compliance.
- Schedules tests for concrete soil density and asphalt tests; reviews test results for quality assurance.
- Reviews contractor quantities for pay request; reviews invoices from test laboratory.
- Coordinates meetings between contractors and other city departments.
- Reviews schedules in order to determine project status.
- Meets with residents to resolve complaints or answer questions.
- Monitors erosion control methods.
- Makes video recordings and photographs of construction site.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
High School diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by additional college or vocational training in civil engineering, surveying or construction standards with two (2) years of experience in building construction, construction technology, engineering, or related field.
Requires additional specialized training and certification for assigned department within (1) year of employment.Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.

Background investigation, including supervised drug screen, post offer/pre-employment medical screen; and verification of education, certifications, and licenses required prior to employment.
Knowledge of city stormwater management ordinances.
Knowledge of sediment and erosion control, stormwater best management practices, and stormwater construction methods.
Knowledge of construction methods and techniques.
Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Knowledge of computers and other modern office equipment.
Skill in developing short- and long-range plans.
Skill in establishing priorities and organizing work.
Skill in reading blueprints. Skill in interpreting specifications.
