Gayanga Co., LLC is seeking to fill a Demolition Superintendent position.  This position has a tremendous opportunity for growth.  The Demolition Superintendent will report directly to the General Superintendent.   

 

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

  • Safety:  Provide leadership to ensure Division achieves safety goals. Ensure that everyone understands expectations, are motivated, and trained to keep our people safe.  Continually check on site compliance and behaviors and provide feedback and mentoring as needed.

  • Job Planning:  Review cost estimates, scope, plans, and specifications for upcoming work prior to job set up.  Collaborate with Project Managers to develop plans for the most profitable execution considering sequencing, customer expectations, areas of risk and divisional resources and set the jobs up to support this.  Ensure that all materials and resources are secured and remove any potential delays prior to beginning work.

  • Direct Operations:  Provide overall leadership and direct all operational resources in division through direct reports. Serve as the primary point of contact for activities involving the division and coordinate closely with other divisions to support the successful competition of projects.

  • Customers:  Support positive customer experiences and build relationships on job sites and at a company level. Serve as our operational expert for any division related issues or advice customers may need.

  • Project Management:  Support Project Management and coordinate with other Divisions in exceeding customer expectations in a manner that utilizes company resources as effectively and profitably as possible.  Work with Project Managers on scheduling, monthly projections. Collaborate across GNS to identifying and help eliminating any potential administrative delays.

  • Work with supervisors and crews on means and methods that continuously improve performance.

  • Responsible for securing and retaining staffing levels appropriate to company budgets and growth plans.  Maintain and represent our company’s culture to maintain the highest level of moral and employee satisfaction.  Scheduling: Responsible for scheduling trucks and staff to facilitate the overall project requirements. Ability to quickly shift gears when issues occur.

Specific Tasks and Duties, include:

Create daily reports on all phases of the demolition process (demo, backfilling, utility disconnects, pump-outs and trucking; Schedule crews, equipment and trucking to demo site locations; Schedule air monitoring company to demo site locations; Order demo supplies, as needed; Schedule water pump outs and disconnects for supportive services contact; Order fluid and grease supplies for trucks and equipment; Order off road Fuel for the yard; Manage final phase and close-out the logistics;  Assist Yard team with managing repairs and maintenance; Check crews for safety hard hats vest glasses; Order other supplies and goods as needed or required; Responsible for getting trucks logs out on as needed.”

Job Qualifications:

We are looking for a flexible, detail-oriented team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. The successful candidate will possess:

  • Excellent listening skills and strong communication skills.

  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

  • Effective participation in a team environment.

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software and scheduling software.

  • 5+ years of construction experience in a leadership role.  Bachelor’s degree is a plus but not required.

  • A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.

  • Problem solving skills: Ability to assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.

  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize work requests.
