Clausen Miller P.C. is seeking a Conflicts Analyst to join our Billing Department team based out of our downtown Chicago office. The firm offers a hybrid schedule (3 days/week in the office) The Conflicts Analyst will be responsible for inputting new matter information, performing conflict checks, and resolving conflicts of interest issues using the Firm’s conflict system – Elite 3E.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Communicating with attorneys and their assistants to obtain information needed to accurately complete the conflict check process and identify potential conflict issues.
- Ensuring all necessary new matter information is input into 3E accurately and updated when changes occur.
- Assisting with lateral attorney conflict checks, verifying that all necessary new matter information is obtained, and running conflict checks before onboarding.
- Analyzing conflict reports to determine which matters require additional review and communicating follow-up questions to attorneys and the Conflicts Committee.
- Working with the Conflicts Committee to ensure new matters are cleared in a timely manner.
- Assisting the Billing Department with special projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications/Qualifications:
- The Conflicts Analyst will have a High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred). 2-3 years of previous experience in a law firm is required.
- Knowledge of law firm billing & conflicts system required (Elite 3E).
- Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing with internal and external clients.
- Maintains professionalism and strict confidentiality in all Client and Firm matters.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to complete the job.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading necessary.
- Ability to learn new software.
