Serco is seeking a Configuration Management professional to support the PSS Program Data system engineering team.  The goal of this team is to ensure that new technology for Public Safety Systems (PSS) is produced in the most efficient and timely manner by using industry standard best practices for systems engineering and management. 

 

The Configuration Manager/Data Analyst will be responsible for, but not limited to: PSS Program's Action Item Lists, System Baselines, Change/Data/Configuration Management, Process Improvement and the analysis of Program support system documentation.

 

 In this role, you will:

  • Conduct program and product assessments
  • Establish an authoritative and empowered Configuration Control Board (CCB),
  • Verify and manage system/equipment baseline configurations and change management processes.
  • Record and report all unauthorized modifications.
  • Provide advisory support in the implementation and management of the chosen program approach.
  • Perform Quality Assurance assessment of program management office configuration data to ensure accuracy.
  • Make recommendations for implementing best practices and tailored methodologies based on the results on process assessments.
  • Identify differences between installed configuration and authorized baseline, including approved modifications
  • Support system configuration and data management efforts of various systems. Provide training to Navy first responders, instructors and response teams using models, simulations, Navy E-Learning, and in-person instruction.
  • Capture Configuration Management objectives:
    • Identification of configuration items (CIs) to be placed under configuration control, and Establishment of configuration processes, rules, workflows.  Establishment of change control processes and procedures for implementing the changes across the enterprise and perform Independently evaluation of current configuration/change/data management practices, processes, programs, and policies established and/or required for the Program Management Office.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college or university in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline
  • 5 + years' experience providing Configuration Management (CM), Change Management, and Knowledge Management for complex programs to include control of technical data, system configuration changes, and hardware/software configurations.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management role in support of a Program Office developing and implementing policy and strategic direction; Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of CM and DM standards including MILHDBK-61B, EIA-649-C, and EIA 859.
  • Demonstrated experience with the establishment of an Enterprise Configuration Control
  • Board (CCB), capturing Configuration Management objectives, establishing and improvement of configuration processes, rules, workflows, etc.,
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and updating schedules, initiating changes and modifications to a program for improvement in product following established guidelines and procedures.
  • Demonstrated excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including senior management.
  • Ability to define risk-benefit tradeoffs for design reviews and/or incorporation into status briefings as needed.
  • Ability to provide presentation materials for Systems Requirements Review (SRR).
  • Experience supporting the development, base-lining, updating, monitoring, and reporting of project Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
  • Ability to support system configuration and data management efforts of various systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as needed.

In compliance with state and local laws regarding pay transparency, the salary range for this role is $83,365 to $138,941; however, Serco considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
