Conference Center Events Manager
Hampton Inn & Conference Center in Gardner Kansas is looking for a skilled administrative Conference Center Events Manager to plan dynamic and engaging events to drive new business and strengthen our organization’s unique culture. The ideal candidate is meticulous and organized. They will be able to coordinate multiple moving parts under pressure and ensure that any last-minute changes or obstacles are handled with minimal disruption. Above all, they will bring a strong sense of our organization’s needs and how events fit into our broader communications strategy.

Preferred qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Hotel Events Experience 1+ years
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Familiarity with event management software like Delphi SalesForce
- Creativity in crafting internal and external events
- Demonstrated understanding of attendees’ needs
- Willingness to delegate tasks and organize a team.
- Ability to communicate and negotiate with external vendors and service providers.
- Familiarity with event trends and developments
Essential Job Functions:
· Oversees the daily and weekend operation of the Conference Centers, including scheduling of room setups/takedowns, catering, audio/visual requests, and facilities sanitation/public safety staffing as needed. Processes Facility Request and Confirmation forms.
· Maintains an accurate inventory of furniture/equipment and furniture available to be used in each conference area. Ensures that all tables and chairs are functional and is responsible for inventory, storage, and cleanliness of all tables, chairs, skirting, tablecloths, etc.
· Facilitates the cleanliness of all areas within the Conference Centers during the evening and on weekends to include restrooms and kitchen areas.
· Ensures budgeted revenue and volume expectations are met by focusing on the retention of current customers and the recruitment of new customers.
· Oversees the delivery and execution of catering services, including ensuring that Public Health requirements are met. Ensures that all leftover food/beverage items are removed in a timely manner. Monitors caterer performance and takes corrective action if necessary.
· Trains, evaluates, and supervises part-time staff as assigned.
· Conducts tours for prospective customers and final inspections once show concludes at the Conference Center.
· Prepares a variety of financial and other reports, on-site contracts, and invoices related to Conference Center services. Tracks Accounts Receivable for facility usage. Monitors payments, logs deposits, and arranges special payment schedules when needed.

Salary: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year plus commission on bookings.
