As a Conduit Inspector you'll be overseeing contractor construction activities to ensure that procedures and materials comply with specifications. You'll also be measuring and recording distances and payable units, interpreting work prints, preparing detailed job reports for contractor billing and preparing sketches of completed work.

As a Conduit Inspector you'll be overseeing contractor construction activities to ensure that procedures and materials comply with specifications. You'll also be measuring and recording distances and payable units, interpreting work prints, preparing detailed job reports for contractor billing and preparing sketches of completed work.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Inspecting and overseeing construction of manholes, environmental vaults, conduit formations and other types of underground telephone construction built by contractors.
- You will require independence for meeting multiple tasks demands, as well as subject matter expertise for maintaining high priority requirements that meet quality, safety and regulatory standards for compliance.
- Observing work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to work prints and measuring and recording distances to verify the final location of installations.
- Providing and ensuring the pathway for new copper and fiber cables by monitoring outside contractors to machine or hand rod and clean ducts and place mule tape and/or inner duct to pull or jet copper and fiber cables.
- Interpreting work prints and specifications for contractors and correcting deviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance.
- Climbing ladders, working aloft, entering confined spaces to accomplish job tasks, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 60 lbs.
- Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.
You'll need to have:
- Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
- Related Associate Degree or 2 or more years of relevant work experience.
