RCC Project Engineer
Geotechnical Consultants Inc. (GCI) is a 43 year-old civil engineering company specializing in geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, field and construction services, special inspections, and steel testing primarily throughout the state of Ohio. We are seeking a full-time Roller-Compacted Concrete Project Engineer for our central Ohio (Westerville) office.
GCI is looking for individuals who enjoy working outside, have the ability to work independently, have excellent client communication skills, a "can do" attitude, willingness to learn new concepts, and ability to achieve needed testing certifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, or similar degree, from an accredited institution
- 1-3 years of work experience in Geotechnical field preferred
- Specializing in concrete testing would be an advantage
- Detail orientated and self-motivated
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good communication and client related skills
- Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements
- Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States, no visa sponsorship available at this time. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering, management and laboratory testing of RCC projects
- Design of RCC mixes along with laboratory and field-testing verification
- Complete testing/design mixes for cement-treated base (CTB) and pervious concrete
- Research & Development management for clients regarding RCC mix design and mix components
Desired Certifications (or ability to achieve):
· Concrete – ACI Field Testing Technician Grade 1-2, NICET Level 1-3, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector.
